Outdoor dining is a hobby of mine; adding to the long list of reasons why I prefer the summer months to the winter. I am lucky to be surrounded by ample outdoor dining, at home and at work. Two of my favorite bars at home have great outdoor dining spots but only one of them is accommodating as the weather gets chilly. Pheasants Landing in Hillsborough, New Jersey is close enough for me to ride my bike from home, and in the past few years they have opened their patio doors with heat lamps to extend the thrill of enjoying a meal and possibly a few drinks outside…where the weather can get awfully frightful.

Yankee Doodle Tap Room Fire Pits

The Yankee Doodle Tap Room Patio, located at the Nassau Inn, took outdoor dining to the next level. Not only is the patio quiet and shielded from the sidewalk and streets, but it has a unique ambience with special lighting and umbrellas to shield the sun-shiny rays and keep diners satisfied. As the weather turns cooler, the patio is right on those cold front’s heels. Standing heaters provide a toasty nest for an elegant evening out. The patio also has intimate fire pits that create a casual setting to enjoy the company of family and friends.

As the weather turns colder and the autumn airs swirls around, I see no excuse to run inside! There is ample time to enjoy the outdoors and fresh fall air. The Yankee Doodle Tap Room Patio just gives that outdoor enjoyment an extra, refined boost of seasonal delight.
