The Yankee Doodle Tap Room
has a unique pub atmosphere. An elegant American grill menu is offered fort breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as for in-room and private dining. There is a cozy seasonal fire place and 5 large HDTVs which make sporting events more fun.

The restaurant was named for Yankee Doodle after Norman Rockwell painted a thirteen-foot mural about the historic figure for Nassau Inn in 1937. Today, this piece of American art history continues to hang behind the bar in the Tap Room.

On May 25, 2010 the Yankee Doodle Tap Room opened their new patio on Palmer Square West, offering outdoor dining from 7:00 AM. The Patio is the only place downtown you can enjoy a full breakfast outdoors!!

In the dining room, the art is that of a portrait gallery of well-known Princeton University graduates. From Donald Rumsfeld to Brooke Shields to first lady Michelle Obama, their youth has been forever encapsulated with their framed senior class photos. On the other end of the room is a wooden hearth that has been inscribed with the text:

"Rest Traveller, Rest, and Banish Thoughts of Care; Drink to Thy Friends and Recommend Them Here."

This quote was drawn from an old English inn near Oxford, and dates back to 1937, when Nassau Inn was rebuilt on Palmer Square. The fireplace beneath is lit during the wintry months, and provides welcoming warmth to the guests.

Further indication that Princeton University students once enjoyed themselves in our Tap Room is the carved initials and graduating class years on the oak tabletops. This time-honored custom has been protected with a glass overlay for our dining guests to appreciate.
